This Aero Precision Slick Side Upper Receiver is fully assembled with the dust cover already installed. This upper receiver does not have a forward assist. Forged from 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum and then hard coat anodized to mil spec. Includes M4 feed ramps. Fully compatible with all mil spec AR15/M16/M4 components. T-marks are laser engraved on the top rail and look great against the rich black anodized finish. Aero Precision is well known for their high quality AR15 parts including AR15 upper receivers. This Aero Slick Side Upper is a favorite for many light weight AR15 builds. 

What is a Slick Side Upper?

The name "Slick Side" comes from the fact that this upper receiver does not have the traditional forward assist button on the right side. Eugene Stoner, the designer of the AR-15, initially designed his revolutionary rifle without a forward assist button. At the insistence of the U.S. Army, a forward assist mechanism was ultimately designed into the rifle and remains the standard configuration today. The lack of that protrusion gives this upper a more streamlined look hence the nickname "Slick Side".

This slick side upper pair well with a Raptor Charging Handle since the right side is clear of the forward assist allowing the ambidextrous Raptor to be used to quickly and easily work the bolt from the right side!

Below: This AR15 was built as a pistol using an Aero Precision Upper with no forward assist, often called a Slick Side Upper instead of the more common standard Aero Precision Upper. Sporting Aero M-LOK handguards and an 11.3" BA Hanson barrel. Pistol brace is the rugged SBA3 from SB Tactical and a Black Nitride Toolcraft BCG rides inside.
