I built my first AR-15 in 2011 and I’ll never forget the fun and excitement of choosing all the parts and then carefully assembling everything into a functioning rifle.

What wasn't fun was the online shopping experience.

Many websites were difficult to navigate or sold products they didn't actually have in stock.

Slow shipping, terrible packing, poor communication and non-existent customer service were also very common.

So, I founded SpiceTac to do it better. We work hard to make your online shopping experience a pleasant and memorable one.

Our goal is to exceed your expectations, because doing it better is literally what we came here to do!

About Me

I’m David “Blaze” Blazek, founder of SpiceTac located near Jacksonville Florida.

I am proud to have served as a US Air Force pilot for over 20 years.

I've flown various aircraft including the C-21 Lear Jet (VIP/DV Airlift), EC-135 Looking Glass (Airborne Command Post) and the U-2 Dragon Lady (High Altitude Reconnaissance). On 13 May, 1999 I became the 704^th pilot to fly the U-2 and in doing so became U-2 Solo Number 704.

I’ve deployed and flown missions in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, and have flown combat missions over Iraq, Afghanistan and Bosnia-Herzegovina. I've also flown TAL site support missions with NASA astronauts out of airfields in North and West Africa in support of Space Shuttle Endeavour (STS-61, 67 & 69) and Columbia (STS-65) launches.

I enjoy competitive shooting and I'm an International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) Master Class shooter and a United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) B Class shooter. I competed in the first-ever IDPA World Championship in 2011 and I've twice won High Military at the IDPA National Championships.

Since 2010, it's been my honor to be a Staff Instructor with the Massad Ayoob Group (MAG) teaching defensive firearms training to armed law-abiding citizens. In February of 2023 I became the first person to ever shoot a perfect 300/300 score on the MAG Pistol Qualification at Quad (4X) speed. Article and video at link.

I am a certified NRA Pistol Instructor and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), Gun Owners of America (GOA) and the California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA). I became a certified Glock Armorer in 1991 and I enjoy building AR15s in my spare time.
